Garden Inspired Wedding at the 1912

The 1912 in Santa Ana

It’s always exciting when you get to work with other creatives to bring a gorgeous vision to life during a styled shoot. It’s even more fun when you find out all that hard work gets to be published for others to see. Yep! I am so excited that this gorgeous styled shoot at The 1912 in Santa Ana is going to be featured on Wedding Chicks in August!

In the meantime, I couldn’t help but share here on my own blog. I’ve been sitting on these images since July and they are simply too pretty not to share!

I thought it would be best if we got to hear about how this vision came to life by the wedding planner herself. So, here are a few words from Nicole of Nicole George Events…

“As a wedding planner, I have the opportunity to work with real couples planning beautifully curated weddings, but I couldn’t miss the opportunity to collaborate with some talented creatives in order to truly create something that appeals to our inner garden-loving yet equally edgy souls.

It all started by choosing a design that spoke to our inner artists and running with it. It was easy to develop a neutral design that was both ethereal and romantic set against a modern warehouse space giving just the right amount of unexpected pop. I am always looking for flattering juxtaposition in my wedding designs so intertwining a minimalistic vibe with lush florals and impactful details was a no brainer. I loved the idea of mixing secret garden vibes against an urban landscape. It was important to accent our neutral color palette of oatmeal, grey, and ivory with a lot of texture and organic elements so our floral design played a large role in complementing the neutral look.

In an ode to all of the vendor’s artistic backgrounds, we added in unexpected touches of paint – from the painter’s ladders in our ceremony backdrop to our paint-coded place cards to the hand-painted cookies. It was a great way to leave our mark on the shoot while also creating something beautiful and complimentary. Our floral design by Blooms by Breesa Lee tied the whimsical design together by adding an organic and soft texture to the non-traditional warehouse space. The use of lush and cascading greens accented beautifully as yet another ode to some secret garden vibes. Our painters-inspired cake design by Vanilla Bake Shop and hand-painted sugar cookies by Blushing Blossom were one of my favorite details from the day, not to mention our mixing of textures of tones of our linens! Our paper goods were exquisitely executed. The textured paper was kept minimalistic with a delicate design aligning perfectly with our color palette and vibe.

I couldn’t be more in love with how the images captured the concept and how each detail was executed to perfection.”
