Yuko McMahon's Brand Photos in Newport Beach

Newport Beach Brand Photography

Yuko is a client turned friend (those are the best). She reached out to me for branding photos for her new venture and my ears instantly perked up when I heard her incredibly specific niche. She is a business and branding coach for Japanese female entrepreneurs. So awesome!

It didn't take long before we started talking business strategy and letting our marketing minds go wild. I love surrounding myself with people who are motivated and like-minded entrepreneurs. There is nothing better than being able to encourage and push each other forward. And it's even better when some of your goals line up and go hand in hand.

When clients come to me for branding sessions, the one thing I hear the most is "I need to show my face on social media more, people always engage with those photos the most. But I need direction. I'm not good in front of the camera." This was Yuko’s case as well!⠀

I always respond with a big "I GOT you!!!". Trust me! The thing I want people to know is this... You are a badass entrepreneur. You are amazing at what you do! You're not a model, you're a REAL, relatable person, and that's what attracts people to your business.

On the other hand, I am a badass brand photographer (if I do say so myself haha)!. I am GOOD at directing my clients to look and feel their best in front of my camera. I'm always looking for the best most flattering angles. So again, I GOT you! You worry about being the best version of yourself that you can be, and I'll focus on getting you beautiful images that will help you brand your business!

Yuko really wanted to capture the essence of California in her photos, so we decided on Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach, for her brand photos! It was the perfect location for her branding session!

Tell us a little about your business and what you do…

I help Japanese women start and grow their business by selling their expertise online.

How would you describe your branding?

Empowering and joyful.

What makes your brand stand out from the competition?

My brand experience is unique in how I came to Orange County and ended up empowering Japanese women. While I was running a real estate investment firm, I tried to share my experience with my audience and many people were able to relate with me and wanted to do what I was doing.

They are inspired by seeing a woman running a business in the U.S.

Why did you decide to do a brand session?

Because of online marketing, I needed to have better images of myself and consistency for my brand image.

What kinds of images were you hoping to achieve through this branding session?

I wanted my brand images to describe who I am, not make me look like "a model". It was important to me that I feel like myself in my branding photos.

How do you plan to use your brand photos?

I have been using my brand photos on SNS, my website, and online product graphics. I wanted a consistent look throughout.

What was your favorite part of your branding session?

I was nervous at the beginning because I have never modeled or been in front of the camera, but I enjoyed the process. Erin made me feel like I can be myself when someone is taking pictures of me. I didn't think I could be so natural in front of the camera but found out I am good at it.....lol. Thank you Erin for making me look who I am in my brand photos!

Would you recommend a branding session for other small businesses?

Heck yes!!
