Eden Gardens Wedding

Bryant & Briana’s Eden Gardens Wedding in Moorpark, Ca

As a wedding photographer, I have had the privilege of capturing many couples wedding days, but it’s rare that a couple like Bryant & Briana come along. They are two of the kindest people and their joy for life and one another is simply contagious. During their engagement session, we got to know each other better and it’s pretty safe to say we laughed the entire time. Their wedding at Eden Gardens in Moorpark was a beautiful celebration of their love and their friends and family were equally as kind and warm as they are.

I’ve also had the opportunity to work at Eden Gardens several times and I love that each time the wedding venue transforms in a way that is as unique as each couple’s love is. No two weddings feel the same. Bryant & Briana’s wedding had unexpected rain showers, but the gloomy day couldn’t keep their sunny spirits down, they were simply over the moon that it was their wedding day, and rightfully so. The wedding was set to be held 100% outdoors, and as soon as it started to rain unexpectedly, the team of Velvet Alley Events worked hard to move the entire reception into the covered terrace at Eden Gardens during cocktail hour. We were all very impressed, and they certainly saved the day! Their wedding day was full of love, happy tears, and lots of laughs. Read on to see more from their beautiful wedding at Eden Gardens!…

How the Bride and Groom met…

From the Bride: We met at the my mother’s birthday dinner on Feb 10th, 2006. (Bryant worked with my Mom) There was a mutual attraction to how mature it seemed we both were. I wanted “tutoring” and was able to obtain Bryant’s phone number. We spent about 6 hours together that night just talking and getting to know one another. About a week later, we met for “tutoring” and really just spent the whole night talking some more. After weeks of texting, we became official on March 4th, 2006. Very quickly as we spent more and more time together, there was little doubt in anyone’s mind that knew us that this wasn't going to last forever. After 12+ years together, two dogs, the purchase of a house, and finally at a point to have the wedding we both desired, we decided to begin the next chapter of our lives and Bryant proposed.

How he proposed…

From the Bride: On the beaches of Waikiki during Sunset (Sept. 5th 2018)

What was the inspiration behind your wedding at Eden Gardens?

From the bride: We are not the biggest on “fancy” in our everyday lives. We are both somewhat practical that we didn't want the wedding to be too over the top and “not us”. But we also wanted it to feel like this was a special day and not like any other. Finding the balance between simple and extravagant wasn't easy, but the wedding venue, decor, and reception at Eden Gardens felt extravagant enough to be different, but still simple enough to be “us”.

How did you decide on Eden Gardens as your wedding venue?

From the bride: When we started looking at wedding venues in Moorpark, we quickly realized that we wanted a nice, garden style wedding. Eden Gardens was a great wedding venue for us and our friends and family. Having our wedding outdoors was something we were really looking forward to and when we saw Eden Gardens we both knew that was the wedding venue that checked off every box on our list.

What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?

From the Bride: Walking down the aisle
From the Groom: Grand Entrance/Final Dance Sequence of the night (Slowdance/Sweet Caroline)

What is your favorite thing about each other?

From the Bride: I love that you make me laugh, that you are so thoughtful, and you support me in anything that I do

From the Groom: She deals with my silliness and accepts me for who I am.  She cares for me in ways that I wasn't even aware that I needed.

Any advice for brides planning their wedding day?

From the Bride: Stay organized and create a separate wedding-only email. Prepare to be stressed. Know that at the end of it all, it will be a magical day worth every moment. Trust your wedding vendors and know that this is not their first rodeo. Beware of outside input from family and friends and go with what YOU and your fiance enjoy. Take advice from those who have recently planned weddings as they tend not to freely give you that advice unless asked because they know how stressful things will be.
