Corona Del Mar Engagement Session

Drew and Ashley are two of the most fun and down to earth people I’ve ever met. I absolutely LOVE when I get the chance to work with couples like them. For their engagement session, we decided on Corona del Mar, just down the street from where they live in Newport Beach! We started off with a little date night at Gulfstream in Corona del Mar, captured some photos on the beautiful palm tree-lined streets of CDM, then headed down to the tide pools to catch the sunset.

I can’t wait to capture their wedding day at Balboa Bay Resort this summer! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy their fun-filled engagement session in Corona del Mar!…

How did you two meet?

From the groom- “Ashley and I met online. It was over the holidays so all we could do was interact via text for a couple of weeks until I arrived back in California from a long vacation with my family on the East coast. We first “physically” met at the Bungalow in Huntington Beach where I braved 2-hour traffic to get to. It goes without saying, but it was entirely worth it. We had an incredible night and I would continue to brave the horrific traffic just to get down to spend what time I could with her. I fell hard pretty quickly.“

How did you Propose?

From the groom- “My proposal...so we had scheduled a European vacation and we had spent the previous year in France with my family. We wanted to go somewhere neither of us had been and we landed in Scotland. After spending weeks working on her engagement ring, clandestinely, it was shipped out to me in CA and we packed up and headed to Scotland.

We were staying in a historic royal hunting lodge in the highlands of Scotland and on our riverside walk to the local pub in the late afternoon I decided to pop the question (after a few drams of whiskey to calm the nerves!). I even wore the same outfit I had worn on our first date from roughly 20 months prior at the Bungalow! It was just us, alone, in a beautiful setting. I wouldn’t trade that moment for any other. It truly was perfect. After sharing a joyous tear and laugh we continued to the pub where we were the toast of the town (7-8 people)! And as good as our first date was, this was the best date of my life.“
